Danvers To Hold Memorial Field Dedication In Name Of Longtime Coach, Volunteer

The public is invited to the dedication for the late Ken Smith next week.

DANVERS, MA — The town of Danvers will host a dedication ceremony at Memorial Field in memory of longtime coach and sports volunteer Ken Smith this weekend.

The dedication will recognize Smith's lifelong commitment to coaching and "his unwavering dedication to giving back to the sports of baseball through volunteerism."

"Ken Smith touched the lives of countless individuals through more than three decades of service and leadership," Danvers Recreation Director David Mountain said. "Though he passed away this past April, his legacy and impact on the Danvers community will never be forgotten."

Smith was involved in the Danvers American Little League for 31 years.

The public is invited to the ceremony set for Sunday morning at 11:15 at Memorial Field at 55 Conant Street.
