Best Walking Routes On The North Shore
It's happened: Spring is here. Here are some ways to get outside in every North Shore Patch town.

NORTH SHORE, MA – We survived snowstorms, subzero temps, and as recently as last week, enough rain to prompt several flood warnings. Now that sunny weather is here, check out these ways to take advantage of the warm weather around the North Shore.

BEVERLY
The City of Beverly has compiled a list of the city's official trails, from the Bald Hill Trails to the Sally Trails. Click here to explore some of the city's lesser known areas.

If ocean views are up your alley, Lynch Park is a popular spot to stroll any time of year. As we go further into spring, the fabled rose garden will come into full bloom. This walk can be lengthened by leaving the park and walking toward the Beverly/Salem Bridge, along Dane Street Beach, Ocean Street Beach, and Independence Park.

DANVERS
The Danvers Rail Trail is perfect for biking, walking, or running. It's roughly 4.3 miles long, and links to the trails in Peabody, Wenham, and Topsfield.
Whipple Hill in Endicott Park is perfect for quiet walks to absorb nature.

HAMILTON/WENHAM
Harvard Forest, Bradley Palmer State Park, and the Pingree Reservation are all great places to walk. If you're looking for something longer, the Hamilton Trail connects all three in an 8 mile loop.

MARBLEHEAD
Marblehead's own Rail Trail connects to Swampscott and Salem, and is a Y-shaped, 4.1 mile trail, according to Trail Link. Walkers and runners can also do a loop around Marblehead Neck and keep an eye out for migratory birds, according to Mass Audubon.
The Town of Marblehead also compiled a list of the town's conservation areas and walking trails, toward the end of this website.

PEABODY
The City of Peabody put together these neat maps for the Independence Greenway, which goes from Middleton, through Peabody, to Danvers.
The city also recently updated the Spring Pond trail near the Coolidge Avenue Water Treatment Plant to make it handicap accessible.

SALEM
Patch readers recommended checking out the Salem Willows and Collins Cove. Both have breathtaking views of the ocean, and the Willows features Restaurant Row if you're interested in making a day of arcade games and carnival food.
