Caller Reports Red Laser Pointed in House

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from Dec. 1-4.

Sunday, Dec. 1

• 5:05 p.m. Report of a female shoplifter at Walmart. Police issued a court summons.
• 5:24 p.m. Report of a single car into a pole on Independence Way at the Liberty Tree Mall.
• 10:09 p.m. Samantha Simpson, 18, of 21 Lee St., Salem, was arrested, following a report of a domestic dispute at a High Street home. A caller also reported a male had a gun. Simpson was charged with two counts of assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person.
• 10:58 p.m. Report of a stolen motor vehicle at Motel 6.

Monday, Dec. 2

• 10:43 a.m. Report of gunshots or fireworks on Franklin Street.
• 10:58 a.m. A caller reported a tent was set up on power lines near Beaver Park and Roosevelt Avenue.
• 12:37 p.m. Michelle Chasse, 45, of 14 Cleveland St., Salem, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Ocean State Job Lot. She was charged with shoplifting by asportation.
• 3:51 p.m. Report of malicious damage to a business at the Liberty Tree Mall.
• 4:43 p.m. A caller reported a white coyote at the corner of Pine and Vineyard streets.
• 5:08 p.m. A caller on Andrew Street reported there was a red laser pointed in the house.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

• 12:02 a.m. Report of a water main break by a loading dock at Target.
• 10:38 a.m. A caller on Kirkbride Drive reported credit card fraud.
• 3:50 p.m. A caller at Highland Meadows reported a credit card scam.
• 4:25 p.m. Report of an erratic operator in a green Dodge van on Endicott Street near CVS.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

• 11:15 a.m. Report of a larceny at Market Basket. A purse was stolen.
• 12:06 p.m. Report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Conant and Elliott streets.
• 12:58 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 114.
• 2:36 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident on Endicott Street with injuries.
