Danvers To Host 'America Recycles Day' Zero-Waste Dropoff Event
Residents will be able to drop off electronics, textiles, metal, plastics, and other items not accepted at curbside collection.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers residents looking to clear out the basements and garages ahead of the holiday season will be able to do so at the town's America Recycles Day Zero-Waste event later this month.
The drop off at Danvers High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 will include the collection of electronics, metal, rigid plastic, textiles, and other items not accepted in regular curbside collection.
Simple Recycling will collect textiles, including clothing, shoes, purses, linens, and comforters, as well as household goods, either bagged or boxed.

BoxQ Electronics Recycling will collect electronic equipment and accessories except for light bulbs, ballasts, and batteries. There are no recycling charges for laptops, keyboards, mice, cables, wires,
routers, cell phones, cameras, and small appliances.
Televisions can be recycled for $30, with computer monitors $15. Printers, copiers, and stereo equipment are $5 each, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners are $30 with small appliances free. Microwaves are $10.

Stoves, clothes washers, and dryers may be disposed of with the metals at no charge.
Paper shredding will be collected but performed off-site. The first two boxes of paper are free.
Subsequent boxes are $5 each (cash accepted here only). This money will be donated to the Danvers Food Pantry.
Metal file cabinets, grills, bicycles, hangers, appliances, patio furniture, curtain rods, doors, ladders and other similar items can be recycled at no charge. Same with rigid plastic barrels, buckets, tubs, bins, outdoor furniture and plastic toys.
Compost bins are $25 for purchase.
Cub Scout Pack 16 will collect bottles and cans.
