Danvers Memorial Day Parade Schedule & Route

The annual parade honoring veterans is fast approaching.

DANVERS, MA – For those who feel Memorial Day snuck up on them, you're not alone. The annual Danvers Memorial Day parade is coming up, and here's what you need to know.

WHEN: Monday, May 29. Parade begins at 9 a.m., the Memorial Day Exercise will begin around 10 a.m.

WHERE: The parade kicks off at Danvers Town Hall and will proceed down the usual route – stopping and placing wreaths at Porter Cemetery on High Street, Lane Parkway, and the Memorial Flag pole in Danvers Square. The ceremony will be back at town hall.

WHAT: The Danvers High School Marching Band and Chamber Singers will perform, and Town Archivist Richard B. Trask will speak at the ceremony, which is open to the public.

WHO: The late Donald. M Gould will be designated Grand Marshal of the parade posthumously by the Danvers Veterans Council, in honor of his service to Operation Troop Support and patriotism, according to an announcement on the town website. His children, Charles Gould and Susan McGrath, will ride in his memory.

VETERANS: For veterans unable to march, a handicapped accessible trolley will be available at town hall. All Danvers veterans are invited to march in their civilian capacity.
