Danvers Resident Falls Victim to Publisher's Clearing House Scam

Danvers, MA - Danvers police are warning of the dangers of scams that target the elderly in light of one recent incident that cost a resident hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A Danvers resident recently fell victim to a PCH Publishers Clearing House scam, according to Danvers police.

The elderly victim was duped out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, believing she was paying taxes up front for a $2 million prize.

Publisher's Clearing House provides these tips to help you recognize if you are being scammed.

Police are asking resident to share these with parents, grandparents, elderly neighbors and relatives to try to prevent more residents being victimized.
