Danvers Sees a Slight Drop in Unemployment from This Time Last Year
Danvers unemployment has gone down by a fraction of a percent since May of 2012.

On Monday the state released the most recent unemployment numbers for towns and cities in Massachusetts. While Danvers showed a small bump inunemployment since last month, it shows a slight decrease overall from this time last year.
Throughout the state, unemployment went up in most regions; specifically unemployment percentages in 16 out of the 22 areas went up.
Danvers unemployment has gone down over since May of 2013, dropping from 5.9 percent to 5.6 percent. But from April to May of this year it has gone up from 5 percent.

The seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment went down by a tenth of a percentage point from May of last year, going from 6.7 to 6.6 percent in May of 2013. However, the 6.6 percent unemployment rate last month for the state is a 0.2 increase from 6.4 percent in April.
