Danvers Smoke Shop Targeted In Smash-And-Grab Using Car

Multiple reports said thieves used a car to bash through the front door of City Smoke Shop on Route 114 early Sunday morning.

DANVERS, MA — A Danvers smoke shop owner was picking up the pieces of his store this weekend after he told multiple media outlets that thieves used a car to bash through his front door and stole items from the store on Route 114 early Sunday morning.

The robbery occurred at about 5 a.m. on Sunday with the owner telling media outlets that thieves only got away with a stash of cigarettes and tobacco in the dramatic break-in.

North Shore news photographer Stanley Forman said on his social media account that the car used in the attack was recovered in Middleton later Sunday morning.

Media reports said the Danvers robbery may be linked to another on the North Shore on Sunday as well.

Danvers police had yet to issue a statement on the robbery or any arrests in connection to it as of Monday morning.
