Numerous Spinouts, Crashes Tuesday Morning in Danvers Area
Roads are a mess everywhere. Drivers should use caution if heading out.

DANVERS. MA - The overnight winter storm has created mess on area roadways for the morning commute. There are dozens spinouts, crashes and vehicles off the road across the region, according to authorities.
Motorists are urged to use caution if heading out this morning.
In Andover, Authorities were handling accident investigations on Route 495 north at Route 28, and a multi-vehicle crash on Route 95 north before River Road before 7 Tuesday morning.

In Lynnfield, a crash was reported just before 8 a.m. on Main Street. Peabody Police were also dealing with weather-related crashes.
The roadways throughout Essex County were still slippery and messy after daybreak.

As of 6 a.m., MassDOT Highway remained in snow and ice operations as pavement temperatures across the state remain below freezing. The speed limit along the Mass Pike was reduced to 40 miles per hour from the New York border to Sturbridge.
MassDOT Highway deployed 1398 pieces of equipment statewide, according to state officials.
MassDOT encourages the use of public transportation on Tuesday.
To avoid accidents, MassDOT is urging drivers to slow down and use caution when driving in snowy or icy conditions. Drivers are encouraged to prepare vehicles for winter driving, to have winter car supplies and follow our safe driving tips. MassDOT also reminds drivers to use common sense while driving near snow plows, and remember that the road in front of the plow is usually much worse than the roadway behind the plow.
