• Single Danvers Christmas Tree Curbside Pickup Date Set (patch.com) — Danvers residents get a single free curbside Christmas tree pickup on Jan. 10, with trees due at the curb by 7 a.m. and completely bare of decorations or stands. Collected trees will be composted or used in the town’s annual bonfire, and questions can go directly to the Danvers DPW by phone or email. 
• Nine restaurants in eastern Mass. that shut down during December (wickedlocal.com) — A popular brunch spot at Liberty Tree Mall, The Friendly Toast, has closed due to ongoing building mechanical issues, but owners say they intend to reopen somewhere else in the Danvers area. The roundup also notes several other restaurant closures across eastern Massachusetts, from longtime favorites like China Rainbow and The Olde Colonial Café to newer spots, reflecting broader challenges for the region’s dining scene.
