Town Manager Wayne Marquis said the inexperienced Spindle City representative said he had never actually been to the kiosk, or inside the , and was unable to answer most of the questions the Selectmen asked.

According to Police Chief Neil Ouellette, the kiosk was cited several times for not following the license regulations including registering each sale, and tracking where the metals have come from.

Ouellette cited one example when a 29-year-old male came from out of town and traded in silver as well as a lady's valuable pendant, and Spindle City made no record of the event.

"We don't want the business to be a vehicle for thieves to sell their stolen merchandise," said Marquis.

Selectman Bill Clark motioned to revoke the license permanently, and although Chairman Dan Bennett agreed, calling the kiosk a 'magnet for stolen goods,' the motion failed.

The Selectmen will provide an opportunity for Spindle City to come back before the Board before the end of February, with a plan for how to comply with the bylaw.

If a satisfactory plan has not been submitted to the board by the end of February, the business will face a license revocation.
