DANVERS, MA - The Town of Danvers is accepting applications for several open positions.

  • Department of Public Works Director of Operations

Responsible for overseeing daily operation of the streets, equipment, buildings, grounds and forestry divisions, and winter operations.

  • Human Services/Council on Aging, Receptionist

Perform general, entry-level secretarial and clerical work. Answer phone calls, provide general information, direct calls to appropriate staff. Under the general supervision of the Director of Senior/Social Services, the receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors and/or business people at the Danvers Council on Aging. Provide information regarding Senior Center programs, classes and other offerings to the general public. Maintain a list of scheduled programs, time and locations and updates daily. Type correspondence and perform limited data entry. Perform filing, class/event registration using the RecTrac online registration system. Handle limited amounts of money. Hours to be determined, 19 hours.

  • Congregate Meal Site Position

This person will be responsible for the serving and cleanup of the weekday congregate meal site at the Danvers Council on Aging. Responsibilities include tracking the number of meals ordered and served daily, attendance and participation, meal temperature recordings, managing inventory. Some experience with food service delivery preferred; sanitation training will be provided. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday - Friday. Pay is $10 per hour.

  • DPW Forestry Division, Full-time Equipment Operator

This is a skilled work in the operation of automotive equipment and/or moderately complex highway construction, forestry and grounds maintenance equipment, requiring a hydraulic license and in performing a wide variety of manual laboring work. Two to three years of experience in forestry and grounds-related areas, to include operation of gas and diesel hydraulic automotive equipment. Job requires graduation from a high school or trade school, a Commercial Driver’s License, ability to obtain Massachusetts State Pesticide Operator’s license, possession of a Hydraulics License, and associates or bachelors Degree desirable. Must complete OSHA Confined-Space Safety course within 6 months of hire and complete Excavation Safety and Competent Person training within sixmonths of hire. Hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays thru Fridays.

  • DPW Program Engineer

Develop, promote, and manage complex Department of Public Works projects and programs. Supervise and assure accuracy in accounting data and reports. Program engineer will be responsible for researching program options, developing proposals, managing teams and committees to initiate programs; designing projects and programs utilizing DPW employees, town employees, and outside consultants; presenting project and program options to DPW and town officials; developing, managing, and overseeing projects and programs; presenting project updates and analysis of program success; and management and update of department web page, policies, and educational materials. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field required, with significant knowledge of DPW functions, and five years of related experience required. Salary range: $61,630.00 to 80,891

  • Human Services/Council on Aging Supportive Day Activity Leader

The Danvers Council on Aging is seeking two enthusiastic, individuals to serve as supportive day activity leaders. The leaders will assist with carrying out activities of the day program. Regular attendance and punctuality at the work place is required.
