The Blue Bunny Bookstore Invites Community to Celebrate its 22nd Anniversary
Anniversary Events Includes Launch Celebration of Peter H. Reynolds' New Book The Gift of Words
Dedham, MA — Twenty-two years ago, The Blue Bunny bookstore opened its doors in Dedham Square. This Sunday, the shop will kick off its 22nd anniversary with a special celebration of Blue Bunny Books founder Peter H. Reynolds’ newest picture book, The Gift of Words. The free event will take place on Sunday, October 26, from 10:00–11:30 AM at Reynolds’ non-profit creative education center TLC Studios & Media Lab (390 Washington St., Dedham, MA), with book signing and festivities continuing afterward at Blue Bunny Books (577 High St., Dedham, MA).
The morning will begin with screenings of two beloved short films by Peter H. Reynolds—The Word Collector and Say Something—followed by a reading of The Gift of Words by Peter Reynolds. In the spirit of the book’s message, attendees are encouraged to share their favorite positive words, and help create a community “Tree of Words” that will grow throughout the event.
At 11:30 AM, the celebration will continue just around the corner at Blue Bunny Books where guests will enjoy more book signing, birthday cake, and more art activities.

Reynolds notes, “When we opened the shop over twenty years ago, digital books were just being launched, and folks warned against the venture, insisting that "physical books” were soon going to be obsolete. Thankfully, we trusted our instincts that hold-in-your-hands books were here to stay, so here we are, celebrating the customers who’ve kept our doors open for over two decades.”
