Dedham Announces Vacancies In Boards, Committees
The town is trying to fill vacancies on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Taxation Aid Committee.
DEDHAM, MA — Dedham has several vacancies on boards and committees that it is looking to fill — the town announced on Wednesday, vacancies on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Taxation Aid Committee.
There are two open positions on the Zoning Board of Appeals, each with a one-year term. Members are responsible for hearing and deciding applications for special permits; appeals or variances from the terms of the Zoning By-Laws; appeals taken by any person aggrieved of his inability to obtain a permit or from an enforcement action; and comprehensive permits for construction of low or moderate housing.
The ZBA generally meets once a month beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Dedham Town Hall. The board consists of five members: an attorney, a civil engineer, an architect or structural or mechanical engineer or a master builder or a person with ten or more years experience in the construction or supervision of construction of buildings, and two members at large.

The Taxation Aid Committee is charged with adopting rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of Mass. General Law c.60 sec.3D. The Taxation Aid Committee has three members.
Applications for the positions should be submitted between Sept. 5 and Sept. 15. Anyone interested should file with the Board of Selectmen, his/her name and residential address, and a resume and/or statement which sets forth in clear and specific terms the qualifications he/she holds for the position. Applications can be dropped off to the Board of Selectmen's office or emailed to nbaker@dedham-ma.gov.
