Dedham Nurse Recognized In Boston Globe Annual "Salute To Nurses"

Kendra Grimes was praised in The Boston Globe's annual "Salute to Nurses" for her work at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale

DEDHAM, MA - Kendra Grimes of Dedham was recognized in the annual “Salute to Nurses” published in the Boston Globe for her impeccable work as at Hebrew SeniorLife NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham.

NewBridge on the Charles is a campus of Hebrew SeniorLife, a Harvard Medical School affiliate. The facility was cited as one of Boston's top plces to work in 2021 by the Globe, and it is New England's largest nonprofit provider of senior health care and living communities.

Grimes was nominated by her colleague, Christina Karalolos, the lead nutritionist at Hebrew SeniorLife, for her dedication.

“Kendra is a gift to Hebrew SeniorLife," Karalolos said in her “Salute to Nurses” nomination. "She is so dedicated to her patients, the staff, and her clinical team. She not only takes care of the patients' medical needs, but sandwiches that in with her great care and compassion.”

The annual “Salute to Nurses” recognizes area nurses whose dedication and caring have saved lives, soothed fears, and eased the pain of countless patients and their families.

Hebrew SeniorLife offers many opportunities for nurses to advance their careers through professional development, tuition assistance, and leadership opportunities. It serves as a clinical training site for students seeking R.N., L.P.N., or C.N.A. degrees, and trains nursing students in inpatient and outpatient settings from partner schools, including Academy Health Care, Regis College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Massachusetts General Institute for Health Professionals, and Labouré College.

Hebrew SeniorLife’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program is based at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston and offers a five-week, fully paid program that combines classroom time, lab skill training, and supervised time with patients. The organization was recently designated as an Age-Friendly Health System by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement.
