Dedham Police Logs: Shoplifting, Vehicle Break-ins and More

Monday, Nov. 26
(3:37 p.m.) According to police reports, there were two female shoplifters who attempted to conceal merchandise after entering one of the dressing rooms. According to reports, one of the women left a pile of damaged clothes and removed security tags in the dressing room. But when the women tried to leave the store, the alarm went off. Police were able to retrieve $177 worth of merchandise and the women were placed under arrest.

(1:54 p.m.) At around 1:30 p.m. there was a report of a vehicle being broken into. Upon arrival, the owner of the vehicle told police that someone informed her that the passenger side rear window was smashed. The only item that was taken from the car was the owner's laptop.
(2:48 p.m.) According to police reports, there was a vehicle break-in at the Dedham Plaza. The owner's passenger side window was smashed and her GPS was taken.
Friday, Nov. 30
(11:30 a.m.) The loss prevention personnel of a local shop reported to police about a shoplifter. According to reports, the suspect stole one screw driver bit from a 10 bit package. But once the suspect returned with the loss prevention officers, he fled toward Incinerator Rd. without being identified.
(12:45 p.m.) According to police reports, a black male left a store on Providence Hwy. with a Wii game console valued at $129. "The manager followed the individual into the parking lot where the suspect entered a black Volkswagon Jetta with a spoiler on the rear and fled the area," according to the report. The manager was able to write down the license plate number, but it came back cancelled to a different vehicle. Police are checking with the RMV data base for similar registrations to match the Jetta.
