Dedham Police Logs: Street Fighting, Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle, and More

Thursday, September 13
(12:54 a.m.) According to police reports there was a vehicle driving by the Elm Street exit at Legacy Place when the driver accidentally struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was walking down Elm Street towards East Street. The victim was transported to the hospital. There was no details on the condition of the victim.

(8:58 p.m.) A car was broken into at the East Dedham Plaza parking lot. According to police reports, the passenger side window of the vehicle had been smashed, and a Garmin GPS was stolen. And even though the owner left her wallet in plain view- surprisingly, it was left alone. There was no note of foreign objects in the vehicle, and there was no evidence around the area. The officer on-duty informed the victim that he would be available if she needed further help.
Saturday, September 15
(5:21 p.m.) An officer was dispatched to Washington Street because there were reports about an "intoxicated female" damaging property. When the officer arrived on the scene he spoke with the caller that reported the incident. She explained that when she came home she noticed a woman sitting in one of her outdoor chairs. She was seen pulling plants, and damaging Halloween decorations. When the officer confronted the woman- he wasn't able to get any information out of her. It was assumed that she was "extremely intoxicated." Fallon EMS arrived on scene and took her to the hospital for further evaluation.
(11:09 p.m.) According to police reports, approximately 10 to 15 kids were fighting in the street. Officers reported that the suspects fled in a red mustang, while the victims scurried on foot towards the Capen School. While searching the area two victims were located on Sprague Street. The victims said that they didn't recognize the suspects, but one of them did knew his name. The victims refused medical attention, but the mother responded to take custody of the kids. Police did a search for the red mustang but met with negative results.
