Dedham Square to Host Events to Celebrate International Dot Day on Saturday, September 13th
Dot Day Global Celebration of Creativity & Courage Was Inspired by the beloved book The Dot by Dedham Author/Illustrator Peter H. Reynolds
[DEDHAM, MA] — Joining over 32 million people in 190+ countries, Dedham Square will be hosting a local version of a worldwide creativity festival on Saturday, September 13th. Inspired by Dedham resident Peter H. Reynolds’ best-selling picture book The Dot, International Dot Day has become a worldwide celebration of the power of creativity to move the world to a better place.
Reynolds notes, “My book The Dot was published on September 15, 2003, so the 15th is typically when most schools, libraries, senior centers and community groups celebrate. For the Dedham celebration we chose Saturday September 13th since it fell on the weekend, and we’ll be busy doing a day-long Dot Day celebration at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston on Sunday, September 14th.”
