Dedham Town Manager Reminds Of Norwood Hospital Closure
Residents should still call 911 but go to hospitals in Needham, Jamaica Plain or Milton.
DEDHAM, MA — Dedham Town Manager Leon Goodwin is reminding residents that Norwood Hospital is still temporarily closed due to the intense flooding it experienced last week. If someone is in medical distress they must call 911 or visit an Emergency Room at an alternate hospital in the region.
Between Sunday and Monday night, more than 150 patients at Norwood Hospital were evacuated and moved to area hospitals following heavy storms and large amounts of rainfall that passed through Norwood, overwhelming storm drains and resulting in flooding in the basement of Norwood Hospital.
Officials remain in the process of assessing the damage caused by the flooding and Norwood Hospital is temporarily closed until further notice.
