DEDHAM, MA — Dedham's Marie-Louise Kehoe was named a 2020 Commonwealth Heroine. Kehoe was one of the first women elected to the Town of Dedham Select Board in the 1970's and continues to be involved in boards and committees. She was recommended for the award by State Rep. Paul Mcmurtry.

The annual Commonwealth Heroines celebration recognizes women from across the state who "perform unheralded acts daily that make our homes, neighborhoods, cities and towns better places to live." State legislators are responsible for recommending women within their districts for the honor.

Kehoe not only served on the Select Board but also as the State Representative of the 11th Norfolk District for 12 years. Now, Kehoe serves as the Chairwoman of Dedham Cable, Dedham Council on Aging and the historic Old Village Cemetery Restoration Project.
