Dunkin' Donuts Announces Plans to Close 100 Stores
Dunkin' Brands did not specify the exact location of the closures, but they do expect a significant drop in quarterly sales.

Dunkin’ Brands, the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts, announced Thursday plans to close 100 stores across America this year and next year.
In an effort to compensate for an expected drop in sales, the company has decided to close stores at Speedway gas stations. They did not specify the exact locations of the impending closures.

Dunkin’ has forecasted a 1.1 percent sales growth for the third quarter, a mark well shy of the reported 2.9 percent growth in the previous quarter. Simply put, fewer customers have been heading to the coffee shops.
The company also cited the spike in egg prices due to the Avian flu outbreak and the upcoming minimum wage increase in New York as financial factors.

Shares of Dunkin’ Brands fell by more than 12 percent after the company announced the expected drop in sales.
