Man Slain In Shooting Outside BJ's Identified
The 20-year-old was found mortally wounded and died at a hospital, officials said.

DEDHAM, MA — A man shot outside the BJ's Wholesale Club in Dedham early Wednesday morning who died soon after at a hospital has been identified.
The slain man was identified as Jaylani Cole, 20, according to a statement released by Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey and Dedham Police Chief Michael d’Entremont.
"Cole was found suffering from gunshot wounds shortly after 3:30 a.m. after Dedham police received multiple 911 calls," the statement said. "He was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital."

A second 20-year-old who was also shot outside the warehouse club chain on Route 1 underwent surgery and is expected to recover, according to the statement.
"The business was closed at the time of the incident and no arrests have been made," the statement said.

“This is still an active and ongoing investigation," Morrissey said in the statement. "It is always a tragedy when a young life is taken. Our sympathies go out to Jaylani’s family and friends."

The investigation is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, Dedham Police and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
They are being assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Firearms Identification Section and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory.
