Police Log: Shoplifter Allegedly Strikes Security Officer While Fleeing From Legacy Place

Monday, Aug. 18
At 7:57 a.m., police responded to Condon Park on a report of suspicious individuals in the area. Officers spoke with two individuals standing and smoking what appeared to be cigarettes. They told police they had been talking and were planning on walking to Dunkin Donuts on Bussey Street. Officers then cleared the area, as checks on the individuals for any criminal history came back negative.
At 4 p.m., police responded to Sephora at Legacy Place on a report that a shopper tried to conduct a fraudulent return at the store. Officers determined that Shekinah Coren, 20, of Roxbury, had returned more than $700 worth of stolen items to the store and received store merchandise credit on a gift card for the returned items. Coren was arrested on three warrants and charged for larceny of more than $250 at Legacy Place.

Tuesday, Aug. 19
At 10:50 a.m., police received a report of a potential credit card phone cam, in which a resident received two suspicious phone calls from different phone numbers. When she spoke with an individual on the phone, he claimed that a federal lawsuit had been filed against her for not making payments on a Citibank card, and she responded by saying she had never applied for a Citibank card. The victim was advised on how to check her credit reports and statements.

Wednesday, Aug. 20
At 7:55 p.m., a caller reported that someone attempted to flee with more than $100 worth of merchandise from a business at Legacy Place.
At 8:40 p.m., police arrested Timothy Foley, 36, of Hyde Park on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a Class B substance in the area of Sprague Street.
At 7:55 a.m., police responded to Urban Outfitters at Legacy Place on a report of assault and battery with a motor vehicle. Police learned that a larceny had allegedly occurred and the suspect, while attempting to flee, had hit security officers with her vehicle, a red Kia Zip Car rental. Police later located the vehicle, pulling it over in the area of Providence Highway. Police then spoke with the driver, Danielle Shnider-Hicks, 44, of Roxbury. Legacy staff said that while they did not see her take merchandise from Urban Outfitters, the emergency alert system had gone off and they recovered four pairs of pants and two shirts, totalling $245. Shnider-Hicks was charged on two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle), larceny of more than $250 and driving a vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense).
Thursday, Aug. 21
At 7:40 a.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Officers observed a rear windshield of a 2001 gray Honda Civic to be smashed in with what appeared to be a rock that had been sitting on the floor of the front passenger seat. Police also discovered the gas tank of the vehicle to be open, but were not able to determine if the gas had been tampered with. The vehicle owner told police he could not think of anyone or any reason why her vehicle may have been targeted.
At 2:58 p.m., police arrested William Frasca, 50, of Dedham, on a warrant.
Saturday, Aug. 23
At 6:30 p.m., police arrested James Milord, 29, of Hyde Park on two warrants out of West Roxbury district court after they pulled his vehicle over in the CVS parking lot.
At 10:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a home being egged; three young boys reportedly fled from the scene on bicycles toward Cedar Street. Officers later located the boys behind Tedeschi’s. They admitted to egging two houses and one had half a dozen eggs in a black nylon bag that he was holding. Parents of the youths were notified; all three apologies for their actions.
Sunday, Aug. 24
At 6:58 a.m., police arrested Joseph Rose, 42, of Malden, on charges of vandalizing property, breaking and entering nighttime into a building, ship, vessel or vehicle and possession of a burglarious instrument.
At 10:20 a.m., police responded to a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. The rear tailgate window of the vehicle, a Subaru Legacy, had been smashed in, after a composite board had been thrown through the window.
At 2:15 p.m., police arrested William Frasca on Sherwood Street, where he had been walking, on an outstanding default warrant.
Monday, Aug. 25
At 6:12 a.m., police responded to a residence on Sprague Street on a report of a larceny. Crews who had been replacing the roof of the building told police that a job box located on top of the roof was entered over the weekend, and the lock to the box had been smashed. No one was in the dwelling at the time, according to police records. The matter is under investigation.
