Charles Boateng joins the Town of Dedham from a non-profit community health center where he worked as a Prevention Specialist. As the Prevention Specialist, Charles worked with clients to understand their needs and help to coordinate care and treatment plans. In addition to this role, Charles provided training to staff to administer Narcan, emergency medication used to treat known or suspected opioid overdose, and he provided training and education about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) through the Community Health Center. Working in this role and being a resource for the surrounding communities, his passion for local outreach grew stronger.

Charles completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Syracuse University and went on to work for his brother at his media company. It was in this role that Charles was able to combine his passion for people with his interests in videomaking, writing, and storytelling.
