There are now booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States. As of Thursday, October 21st, the CDC recommends Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster vaccines for the following individuals.

  • Moderna: A half dose is recommended for people 65 years and older, and people 18-64 years who are at high risk due to where they work or live. The booster is recommended for people who received their second dose of Moderna at least 6 months ago.
  • Johnson & Johnson: A dose is recommended for everyone 18 years and older who got the primary dose of Johnson & Johnson at least 2 months ago.
  • Mixing & matching vaccine type for booster: Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. The CDC’s recommendations allow for mixing and matching vaccine types for the booster shot.

The Board will continue to update residents as more information becomes available about future vaccination clinics. Halloween Safety

Halloween is around the corner! The CDC recommends that all adults and children aged 12 and older get a COVID-19 vaccine, but many trick-or-treaters aren’t eligible to get vaccinated yet. To help you enjoy a sweet and safe Halloween, remember to take precautions like wearing a mask and washing your hands, and avoid activities that put you, your family, and your friends at increased risk for COVID-19. Here are recommendations for celebrating Halloween (graphic provided by US Centers for Disease Control):

Stay safe and be kind!

Leanne Jasset, Chairman
Mary Ellard, Vice-Chairman
