Walking for a Cure at The Jimmy Fund Walk

One Dedham woman walked 26 miles to help raise money for cancer research.

This was Amy McHugh's first time walking for the charity.  And even though she's proud that she was able to complete the 26 mile course, and as tough as it was for her, she knew that it was worth every step.

"My body is paying the price today with aches, pains and
swollen muscles", McHugh said.  "But that is nothing compared to what a cancer patient or family goes through."

She walked with "Team Invicus" teammates, Jenna Lyons, Kim
Cramer and Bethanny Niloff.

"The weather was perfect for walking.  Not too hot, and not super sunny," she said. " Some of the times it was just so difficult to move and honestly I wanted to throw in the towel.  But I had to keep thinking of all those people that have lost their battle to cancer or who is currently in the battle-my teammate
Karen Kelly.  That's what pushed me!!  I'm healthy!  There is no reason I cannot do this!!"

Throughout the day she was also thinking about the other people she knew who lost their lives to cancer, but others who are still fighting.

The Jimmy Fund hope to raise $7.5 million by the end of this year.
