World Trade Center Beam to be Displayed in Dedham

A candlelight vigil will be held in Dedham Friday night in remembrance of the 14th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

A candlelight vigil will be held in Dedham Friday night in remembrance of the 14th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

The vigil is set to get underway at 8:30 p.m.

A beam from the World Trade Center building will be displayed at Memorial Park on Eastern Avenue. The beam will remain on display thought the weekend for residents to observe.

Veteran Service Officer Bill Aitken told the Boston Globe that “The support from the community is unheralded.”

Aitken wanted to hold a unique ceremony by allowing residents the chance to view an object from the site of the attack.
