The beam will remain on display thought the weekend for residents to observe.Veteran Service Officer Bill Aitken told the <a href="https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2015/09/10/cities-and-towns-commemorate-attacks-friday/5UFs3wkH2O3zz0LGp4unjP/story.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Boston Globe</a> that "The support from the community is unheralded."Aitken wanted to hold a unique ceremony by allowing residents the chance to view an object from the site of the attack.
