D-S Robotics Club Wins Competition at Bridgewater State University
The team will move on to the Massachusetts FTC Championship in March.
The Dover-Sherborn High School Robotics Club came home a winner at the MASS FTC State Qualifier at Bridgewater State University on Saturday.
The win secured the D-S team 'Broken Code' a spot in the Massachusetts FTC Championship being held on March 10, 2012.

Team member Dennis Donoghue said, “we took what we learned from the last qualifier and redesigned our robot to be simpler, smaller, quicker and have a lower center of gravity. We have a very solid robot and we won four of the five games in the qualifying round. That put us in second place out of 24 teams in the qualifying rounds.”
Jake Heinlein said that their robot was one of the more consistent robots at the competition.

Each of the four top seeded teams had the chance to put together a three-team alliance for the championship rounds.
The D-S team chose to accept an invitation to join forces with 'The Knight of the BOTS', the number one seeded team from North Andover High School. 'Halestorm', from Stow, was their third alliance partner.
The D-S alliance beat out from Ursuline Academy, of Dedham in the final round for the win.
“All our hard work, dedication and many hours spent working on the robot is paying off with a trip to the state championship,” said team member Harry Thomas.
