Ellsworth Will Not Seek Reelection as Dover Town Moderator
Pamela Ellsworth has been Dover's Moderator for the past 13 years.

Dover Town Moderator Pam Ellsworth announced at Thursday's Board of Selectmen meeting that she will be running one more Town Meeting before handing over the gavel she's held for 13 years to someone else.
“I have done a lot of thinking and enjoyed my 13 years as Moderator and I will not be running again for reelection this year," Ellsworth said.
Dover Selectmen Chair Carol Lisbon thanked Ellsworth for her years of service to the town.

“Well I know when you called the other day I was taken aback. But I cannot help but think how successful those 13 years, plus special town meetings, have been,” said Lisbon.
Although she is retiring from the position she will moderate this year’s Town Caucus and Town Meeting before calling it quits.

"It’s an annual election and I’ve been successful 13 times and maybe that’s a lucky number for me. So I’m going to pass the gavel on to some other person,” Ellworth said.
This year's Town Caucus will be held on March 12 and the Town Meeting will take place May 7. Ellsworth said she is hopeful that someone will step forward and fill her place for next year.
“Thank you and thank you for your service and we’ll say that again at Town Meeting,” Lisbon said.
