DOVER, MA — Initial autopsy results on the family found dead in their mansion in Dover last week indicate that the father shot his wife and daughter to death before turning the gun on himself, the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.

Officials confirmed that Teena Kamal, 54, and Arianna Kamal, 18, were victims of "homicide by gunshot" while Rakesh Kamal, 57, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the district attorney.

State police found a firearm near Rakesh Kamal's body while searching the property, District Attorney Michael Morrissey previously said. The district attorney's office confirmed Tuesday that the firearm was not registered to Kamal and he was not licensed to own it.

Officials said the bodies were found after police received the 911 call around 7:24 p.m. Thursday from a family member who stopped by to check on the family, who lived at a 27-room mansion on Wilson's Way.

After sharing the news, Morrissey urged to community to utilize resources available for help in domestic crises.

"If you feel unsafe in your relationship, there is help available to safety plan or talk through your specific situation — the Massachusetts SafeLink Domestic Violence hotline number is: 1-877-785-2020," Morrissey said.

The line's operators are bilingual in English and Spanish and have access to translation services for more than 100 additional languages, according to officials.

Massachusetts also established a mental health crisis helpline this year. Callers to 988 can be referred to appropriate support and intervention services, Morrissey said.
