Healthy Eating Week at Pine Hill Kicks Off Oct. 17
Healthy Eating Week includes a taste test table, a live performance about eating healthy and an opportunity for parents to have lunch with their kids.

Pine Hill’s first Healthy Eating Week will be from Oct. 17-21.
With its “Fuel Your Body, Fuel Your Mind” theme, the week’s events will raise students’ awareness of the powerful link between their food choices and the health of their bodies and minds.
Parents and community members are invited to attend FoodPlay, an Emmy Award-winning school touring company that uses live theater and interactive resources to turn kids on to healthy eating and active lifestyles.

This CSA sponsored event will be held Oct. 18 at 8:45 a.m. in the Pine Hill auditorium.
Also as part of the week on Oct. 21 will be a morning assembly, where students will learn additional tips for making nourishing food choices from Pine Hill parent Donna Moore.

At lunchtime that day, students will be invited to stop by the Healthy Eating Week “Taste Test Table” to sample a colorful array of fruits and vegetables.
The tasting table is made possible thanks to support by CSA and planning and preparation by Janelle Madden, Judy Carnes and Debra Owen, members of Dover-Sherborn’s Food Services who work hard to offer healthy lunch options every day to students and staff.
Healthy Eating Week also marks the kick-off Pine Hill’s "Bring a Parent to Lunch" program.
Beginning Oct. 17 and continuing throughout the year, parents are invited to call the front office for a lunch “reservation” with their child in the school dining room.
While purchasing their meal (choosing from available hot and cold lunch options for $3.55), parents will have the chance to see the new 3-door freezer funded by their parent contributions last spring, as well as much needed kitchen equipment updates such as a new oven and serving line installed this summer that allow for a wider range of choices for fresh and healthy lunches.
Healthy Eating week features menu items like oven roasted chicken, black bean and corn salad, roasted cauliflower and whipped butternut squash, and similar healthy options are on the menu every week.
It’s a chance to come and see and taste what your kids are having for lunch.
