The Sherborn Library Trustees invite you to “BOOK your Reservation” today for a special event on Saturday, September 14 from 6:30pm-9:00pm. This evening event will be held on the Library grounds and will feature a tent, passed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and music.
“We look forward to celebrating the early success of the Campaign for the Sherborn Library with the whole community as we move to the public phase of our fundraising efforts,” said Stacey Brandon Chair, Trustees of the Sherborn Library. “Having the event at the Library with a tent set up where the new children’s room and community hall is planned, allows us to celebrate the early success of the Campaign and at the same time, highlight the exciting renovation project with the entire community” she added.
Reservations are required and can be ‘BOOKED’ either online through the library website (library.sherbornma.org) or at the Library Circulation desk. Tickets are $50 each ($35 for seniors). This is not a fundraiser, ticket prices cover the cost of the event.

1. Improved Space: a new children’s area will be the centerpiece of the project, along with exciting dedicated young adult study space, improved and quieter adult reading areas, a new community hall and art gallery, a conference room and a terraced outdoor garden area.
2. ADA Compliance: the building and the site will meet ADA standards and be accessible to all.
3. Updated Systems: all mechanical, electrical, fire and emergency systems, which are now obsolete and do not meet current codes, will be updated.
The Library Trustees previously announced the planned renovation and expansion project, a shining example of a public-private partnership. The cost of the project will be met through a combination of a Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners’ construction grant of $3.6 million, private gifts which now total over $3.5 million, and municipal financing.
