Letter To The Editor: Sherborn Resident Seeks Support For DeRensis

Note: The following is a letter to the editor from Sherborn resident Frank Hoek.

I am writing to encourage your vote for Paul DeRensis for Sherborn Selectman.  Paul has fought to maintain the community, town, and ideology of Sherborn that I love so much. Paul works tirelessly for Sherborn, Sherborn schools, and for what he believes.

Thanks to all Paul’s actions and leadership over the past decade with our wonderful schools and the open spaces, Sherborn continues to be the place I choose to live. Sherborn remains an oasis in a densely populated region and with a school system that is amongst the top schools in a state that leads the nation in education. Paul has done everything possible as a Selectman to support and maintain the quality of our schools. There are very few places, if any, within the 495 corridor with the open-space and quality schools that compares to Sherborn.

I ran for School Committee last year to ensure that Sherborn’s school remains the very best educational institution in the state/country. During my campaign and as school committee member Paul has always been an ardent partner in his commitment for our schools. In this very difficult financial budget year the schools have been asked to deeply cut the budget, Paul led the selectmen in helping our schools overcome the full extent of the shortfall.

The work that Paul has done for Sherborn gives him the best insight in how to get things done.  Paul will not back down from any situation that will derail his belief in or doing what is best for Sherborn. It is in recognition of his hard work and accomplishments in and for Sherborn that he was unanimously elected as President of the Massachusetts Selectmen's Association, a position that gives not only Paul but also Sherborn enhanced standing and recognition within Massachusetts.

I want to know where my leader stands on the issues, I want a leader that will fight to maintain Sherborn’s qualities, I want a leader with a track record of getting things done, and I want leader that is passionate about Sherborn; I want Paul DeRensis for Sherborn!
