Seniors Helping Seniors, a new franchise that connects senior caregivers with seniors in need, opened its doors in October and is now serving the MetroWest area. The non-medical home care organization provides companionship, transportation, meal preparation, overnight stays and home maintenance services, all by seniors who want to supplement their income while having a dignified and fulfilling service opportunity.
“Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services is a place where active seniors who want to make a difference, can make a difference,” said Douglas Peck, a new franchise partner with the Seniors Helping Seniors organization. “And they do. Every relationship means more independence for a senior who needs care. ”

“It takes a village to provide the care that older seniors need and also to provide meaningful work for active seniors. We hope to be part of creating and sustaining that village.”
Douglas and his wife, Deborah, are life-long residents of the area and the business will serve the towns of Ashland, Holliston, Hopkinton, Hudson, Marlborough, Maynard, Sherborn, Southborough, Stow, Sudbury, Wayland and Westborough. They understand intimately how important quality home care is. They know that having a caregiver who can develop an authentic relationship with a senior in need is essential to help that senior enjoy life.

“When my mother was suffering with Alzheimer’s, we knew it was necessary for her to be in a skilled facility as her disease progressed. Although it was necessary, we also knew there was something lost not being able to have her in familiar surroundings,” said Deborah. “When she passed away, Doug and I made a commitment to serve the senior market and create a lasting resource for seniors in our community who need a little help and for those seniors who can provide that help.”
