Pet Of The Week: Meet Marge

This week's pet of the week is a cat named Marge.

Marge is an older gal at approximately 12 years old. Marge likes being a lap cat, loves to have her ears rubbed, purrs all the time and loves treats. She is a very sweet, although stressed to find herself at the shelter. She was owned by a family who also had two dogs and they kept all their pets outside all the time. Marge went to the neighbor's house in search of shelter in a storm last winter and they began to put food out for her and let her spend some time indoors. This continued even after her rescuer went to talk to the owner who said she didn't care if Marge came home or not and she would not let Marge inside if she did return home. Her rescuer decided to bring her in and see if her own cats would accept her. Sadly, one of her older cats is in poor health and was not happy about having Marge in his house, so she is now at the Shelter hoping for a nice home that will keep her inside all the time. Marge would probably be happiest as an only cat. Marge is part of our Seniors for Seniors program, and there is no adoption fee if she is adopted as a companion for a senior.  Please call the Shelter at 508.359.8989 if you are interested in meeting Marge.
