DOVER, MA — Boy Scouts of America Troop 1 Sherborn announces that Gavin Lynch has recently completed all the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout. The rank of Eagle is the highest award in Scouting and is earned by less than 4 percent of Scouts.

Gavin earned at least 21 different merit badges, including 13 Eagle-required badges. He has also performed many hours of community service and has organized and carried out an Eagle Leadership Service Project for the community with help from fellow scouts in Troop 1.

For Gavin’s Eagle Project involved leading the construction of 40 feet of land bridge over dangerous areas on the Rocky Narrows Reservation Orange Trail. The trail is used frequently by the community, and the bridge provides a safer way to enjoy the Orange Trail.

Gavin is the latest Eagle Scout from Sherborn Boy Scout Troop 1, which has been serving the town of Sherborn for over 80 years.
