Sherborn Teen's Boating Death Now A Criminal Investigation: DA
Sadie Mauro, 17, was killed after a boat she was on crashed into a jetty at Sesuit Harbor in Dennis on the night of July 21.
DENNIS, MA — The death of Sadie Mauro, a Sherborn 17-year-old killed in a Cape Cod boat crash last month, is now a criminal investigation, the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office said in a Tuesday news release.
The boat with six people on board crashed into a jetty at Sesuit Harbor in Dennis on the night of July 21, according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police obtained by The Associated Press.
The name of the person operating the boat has not been released, but the boat had an Alabama registration, officials said, according to the Boston Globe.

Local authorities and the Coast Guard launched a missing person search before finding Mauro's body off Cold Storage Beach hours later, the police statement said.
In addition, a teenage boy was taken to the hospital with a head laceration, according to police.
