Where does the Money Go? Last year the Easton Lions gave over $31,000 to Eye Research, $ 23,000 of it to Mass Eye and Ear ( right off Storrow Drive in Boston!), so most of the $ goes to work close to home. In the Past 10 years we have given over $220,000 to Eye Research. In the Past 10 years we have given over $60,000 in Scholarships to Easton Students so they can go to College; over $20,000 has gone to stamp out blindness and get glasses to poor children around the world; Over $200,0000 has gone to support local community and youth groups like FORE / FEEE / Huggs2 / Boy Scouts / BARC / Veterans groups ( VFW/ Legion/ Homes for Vets) / Garden Club / Food Pantry / Youth Baseball and Soccer and many High School teams and Groups....the Easton Lions started and continues to support the Food Pantry and FORE ( For Our Residents of Easton) and the Easton Youth Baseball League. We sponsor many events including: the Senior Cookout each Fall; Golf Tournament; Staff the Grill at the NRT Fair (all $ goes to the NRT !!) ; Carnation Day; Fall Family Fun Day; the Summer Concert Series at Yardley/Wood/Center School Rink; Candy Drive for Eye Research/ Pennies for Sight Canisters and Eyeglass Collection Boxes around town; Cape Cod Walkalong; the High School Leo's Club; Scarecrow Day and the Children’s Halloween Parade Downtown; International Peace Poster Contest; Holiday Fest and Lights and Parade and Children’s Party; Annual January Auction; Recognition Night where we honor local residents who have made our community a better place; Yardley/ Wood rink providing a SAFE place for kids to skate; Canoe day in the Spring; an Award Winning Recycling Day each April ( along with a prescription drug drop-off service); a thrift store at the Grange as part of our efforts to save the Grange Hall on Route 138 between Bob’s Ski-doo and Union Villa; Eyemobile for Ear, Eye and Health Screenings at many events; free eye exams and glasses and hearing aid to hundreds of residents (especially children and elderly) in need; as well as emergency aid to victims of Hurricane Katrina and in Haiti and other spots...and many other services...the Easton Lions spends 100% of all moneys raised on Charity- all club expenses are paid by our own members and our generous sponsors! How do I Win? The Auction is on Sunday the 10th from 2 pm to 8 pm at the Olmstead Richardson School Cafeteria. It will be on Easton Community Access Television (ECAT): Comcast Channel 9 and Verizon Channel 22. It will also be streamed live on the internet at: www.EastonlionsAuction.com. You call in your bid to the Auction Bid Line at 508-230-7071. Please leave your Name and Tel # you can be reached at. Please try and have the Board (A, B, C or Big Board) and item # ready. Watch carefully and be ready to bid higher. When the auctioneer closes the bids we will circle the winning Bid price. The FIRST person we record who bid that price wins. We have a lot of ties so if you really want it, bid more than a bit higher. We will call and confirm you have won at the Tel # you gave when you bid.
