AROUND TOWN: Continued Cleanup on Route 138
A bottleneck effect was created along the road as a backhoe maneuvered in traffic.
Workers from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation were at work on Route 138 at the Father Peyton Center Tuesday morning.
A backhoe was clearing the snow from the sides of the roads in order to widen it for motorists. The Blizzard of 2013 dumped two feet of snow on the Shovel Town over the weekend.
The work resulted in a bottleneck effect along the heavily traveled area, though. Vehicles were coming to complete stops to allow the workers to maneuver.
