Easton Music Teacher Looks to Share Craft With Others

Harris Shilakowski got his first taste of music when he was 6-years-old.
“I just totally fell in love with it,” he said. “I went home to my mom and said I’ve got to play the violin.”
Shilakowski is now a music teacher in Easton running the Easton Music School, and he plays in string quartets and other groups throughout the area. He said he’s played in orchestras all over New England and has played with many classical musicians.
Shilakowski learned and studied with Boston Symphony Orchestra first violinist Leo Panasevich.

Jimmy's Pub in Mansfield: A Mainstay for More Than 30 Years

George Pantos has owned the Mansfield mainstay Jimmy’s Pub for more than 30 years, and has made more than just a dent on the community.
“It was a small town back then and there wasn’t very much around,” he said. “We opened the door and we’re straight out for 33 years.”
Pantos said that he’s seen Mansfield grow since then along with his restaurant, and there is, like many things, good and bad.
“I do feel bad to loose the small town stuff, like where you knew everybody,” he said. “But you do have the new influx from Boston and Worcester, and that’s new and exciting also. There are pros and cons to both venues. There’s been ups and downs in downtown Mansfield. It seems like were going to be seeing an up time.”

Cupcake Charlie's, an award-winning gourmet cupcake bakery with locations in Cape Cod, Plymouth and Newport, R.I., is expected to open at Patriot Place in April.
"We are hoping to have [Cupcake Charlie's] open for April vacation," said Patriot Place General Manager Brian Earley. "They are going to be on the fast track of their build out. The building permit is all taken care of. It's not an overly aggressive build out so they are shooting for April."
April vacation in Foxborough is April 15-19.
Cupcake Charlie's offers sweet treats in an inviting and fun atmosphere. The bakery will be located in the North Marketplace at 262 Patriot Place.

Men have been renting tuxedos for ages, so why shouldn't women be able to rent formal wear?
They can at Fairy Tales Formals, located at 761 Washington St. in Stoughton.
Fairy Tales Formals, which specializes in formal wear rentals for both men and women, has been in business for over six years.  It started as a small store in Hanson and has been in its current location in Stoughton Center for four-and-a-half years.
