Remembering Rita Gorham

Rita Gorham was a founding member and communicant of the Holy Cross
Church in Easton, an avid ballroom dancer and a lover of card games. Below is her full obituary from Kane Funeral Home.

Rita (Gallant) Gorham, 86, of Mansfield, formerly of Easton, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at home under the care of her family. She was the wife of the late Kenneth C. Gorham.

Born in Cambridge on August 9, 1926, a daughter of the late  Vandelin and Lucienne (Ayotte) Gallant, she was raised in Cambridge  and was a graduate of Our Lady of Notre Dame and attended Bryant and Stratton Business Institute in Boston.

Rita was employed in the clerical division of John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston. A resident of Easton for 50 years, she moved to Mansfield 2 years ago.

Rita was a founding member and communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton. Devoted to her family, she enjoyed world traveling and spending winters at her home in Kissimmee, FL.

An avid ballroom dancer, her hobbies included playing cards and gardening.

She is survived by four adult children, Kenneth Gorham of Denton, TX., Louise Gorham of Bellingham, Bruce Gorham of Easton and Ann Fisher of Easton; her siblings, Jeanne Regan of NY., Richard Gallant of Dunstable, Alfred Gallant of Cambridge, Lillian Gallant of Arlington, Elaine Dwyer of Somerville, and the late Norman Gallant and Marcel Gallant; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flower donations in Rita's memory may be sent to Seasons Hospice 275 Grove Street, Newton, MA. 02466.
