MASHPEE, MA — An effort among Cape Cod artists — and one former resident of Hawaii — will raise funds for victims of the recent fires on Maui.

Visitors to Cape Cod over Labor Day weekend can view and purchase artwork by local artist and former Lahaina resident Neil Collins and nearly two dozen other Cape-based artists. Proceeds from artists entry fees, purchased art and donations will go directly to victims of the fire, officials said.

The window art display will bring a particular focus to the sunflower, which blooms this time of year and is known to symbolize longevity, adoration and unwavering faith and grows in abundance on the island.

The display is also personally important to Collins, who as a former resident of Lahaina, lived in one of the many buildings that were destroyed by the fire.

Window viewing is available from Friday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mashpee Commons is located at 5 North St.
