Cape Cod Cars Catch Fire During Attempted Jump Start
The vehicles were severely damaged, but no one was injured during the fire.
FALMOUTH, MA — Two residents trying to jump start a vehicle were met with a scary result this week.
Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, crews from Falmouth Fire and Rescue's Engine 25 and Engine 20 responded to a vehicle fire on Edgewater Drive East.
Two residents were jump-starting a vehicle when it caught fire, spreading to a second vehicle, officials said. Due to the close proximity to the home, the call was upgraded to a structure fire.

Fire crews quickly extinguished both fires, but both vehicles sustained significant damage. No one was injured, however.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the department’s Fire Investigation Unit.
