Cape Cod Cat Rescued 60 Feet Up Tree: Photos

Wareham firefighters plucked a cat to safety after it became stuck 60 feet up a tree.

WAREHAM, MA — A Cape Cod cat used up one of its nine lives Thursday morning after it was rescued 60 feet up a tree. The rescue happened on Lake Avenue in the eastern part of town. Firefighters used a ladder truck to reach the animal.

"After safely navigating the ladder through thick branches, firefighters were able to capture the cat without incident," the Wareham Department of Natural Resources said in a statement.

The cat was reunited with its owner, who was at the scene.
