Cape Cod Cop On Leave After Domestic Assault Charge
The officer, who local officials say has been on paid leave since mid-October, has a court date later this week.
FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth police officer was placed on paid administrative leave and required to turn in his firearm and other police equipment after a recent arrest, multiple reports have confirmed.
Boston 25 News and the Cape Cod Times are reporting that Kevin Frye Jr., an officer in Falmouth, is on leave pending an investigation into threats — and a potential assault — he made toward a woman outside a Wareham bar in October.
Frye Jr. is charged with domestic assault and battery and threats to commit a crime. He was arraigned on those charges on Oct. 14.

Reports indicate that Frye and his ex-girlfriend were arguing, and that Frye grabbing her neck, arm and hair. Additionally, Frye is alleged to have told the woman, "I could kill you right now."
A restraining order has been placed against him by the woman in the report.

The Falmouth Police Department said Frye has been on paid leave since Oct. 14 and an internal investigation is also ongoing.
His next court date is scheduled for Dec. 12.
