Cape Cod Heroin Dealer Arrested: Police

Cape Cod police said Juan Ortiz was found with bags of heroin in an aspirin bottle after he was pulled over for speeding.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod heroin dealer who also had cocaine was arrested during a routine traffic stop, police said Monday. Juan Ortiz, 54, of Yarmouth, allegedly hid the drugs in an aspirin bottle.

Ortiz was pulled over February 27 in Yarmouth on Long Pond Drive after an officer clocked him driving his black Subaru 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.

"During the stop Officer (Nick) Ambrosini observed a small knotted clear plastic bag with a white powder in it sitting inside the door handle on the driver’s door believed to be cocaine," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "Ortiz admitted to the Officers that the bag contained cocaine and he was placed under arrest ... Ortiz advised the Officers that he had some heroin in a bottle on the front seat. Officer Ambrosini located a Walgreens aspirin bottle and inside the bottle were 10 small clear knotted plastic bags containing a brown powder identified as heroin."
