Cape Cod Police: DUI For Woman With Baby During Nor'easter
Cape Cod police said Jocelyn O'Driscoll admitted to drinking espresso vodka nips while driving with a baby during a nor'easter.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Middleborough woman was charged with drunk driving after police said she admitted to drinking espresso vodka nips with a baby in her car on Cape Cod during Friday's historic nor'easter. Jocelyn O'Driscoll, 39, was arrested Friday during the height of the storm and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent driving and child endangerment.
Yarmouth police said on officer encountered O'Driscoll on Strawberry Lane near an inn in Yarmouthport.
" (The officer) arrived and found a red Volvo ... mostly in the roadway, blocking traffic," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "Vehicles traveling had to go into the oncoming lane to get around the Volvo. The vehicle was running and the brake lights would go on and off as if the operator was stepping on the brake."

Police said the officer determined O'Driscoll was "highly intoxicated" and noticed a young child in the back of the Volvo in a car seat.
"(O'Driscoll) admitted to drinking nips," police continued. "(The officer) located 15 full (espresso) Vodka nips in her vehicle and 6 empty ones."

The state Department of Children & Families took custody of the child. O'Driscoll was held pending an arraignment in Barnstable District Court.
