Cape Cod Police: Thief Stole Soldier Memorial
Mashpee police said someone stole a memorial for Dan McGuire, a 19-year-old Marine killed in Iraq in 2008.

MASHPEE, MA — Cape Cod police are asking the public's help finding a thief who stole a memorial for a fallen Mashpee soldier. Dan McGuire was 19 years old when he was killed fighting in Iraq in 2008.
For Memorial Day this year, his mother erected a display on her lawn "in honor of those who sacrificed themselves for our freedom," McGuire's brother wrote in a Facebook post.
Someone recently stole a soldier silhouette that was part of the memorial, according to police.
