Expect Travel Delays On And Off Cape Cod This Week, Police Say

Inspection and maintenance work on the Sagamore Bridge is likely to cause delays on one day this week.

BOURNE, MA — Inspection and maintenance work on the Sagamore Bridge is likely to cause delays for those traveling on and off of the Cape this week, police said.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that the work will be performed on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., prompting the Bourne Police Department to issue a statement regarding travel delays.

During this time, southbound traffic heading on Cape will be restricted to one lane of travel to accommodate the work, officials said. Both northbound travel lanes heading off Cape will remain open during this time.

No wide loads will be permitted to cross the bridge while lane restrictions are in place.
