Falmouth Crash Leaves Car Embedded In Utility Pole
Drivers should avoid a stretch of Waquoit Highway Saturday, as the pole will be replaced once the car is removed.
FALMOUTH, MA — A single-car crash left a car embedded in a utility pole on Waquoit Highway in Falmouth Saturday morning, police said.
The crash happened around 4:50 a.m. on the 300 block of Waquoit Highway. The vehicle, a 2015 Subaru Forester, went off the road and crashed into the pole, police said.
Eversource will shut off power and replace the pole after the car is removed, police said. Traffic will be diverted to Parsons Lane on the west side of the roadway and Studly Street on the east side. The closure will be in effect throughout the day.

"The FPD is highly recommending and encouraging the public to seek alternate routes within the town which would allow them to clearly negotiate around this traffic obstacle, and they should take into consideration the extra time to do so," police said in a statement.
Residents in the immediate area will be allowed access to their homes. Drivers should expect delays if they are passing through the area.
